ケルト音楽と北欧音楽をベースに、伝承曲の美しさを二人の感性で紡ぎ直し、独自の音楽を奏でるデュオ、hatao & nami。
数々の笛を操るhataoと、ハープ、ピアノ、カンテレを奏でるnamiによって2011年に結成。アイルランド、スコットランド、ブルターニュなどのケルト地域、そしてスウェーデンやノルウェーなど北欧の伝承音楽に惹かれ、その豊かな旋律や響きをもとに、オリジナル曲や独自のアレンジを生み出している。
旅先で出会った風景、人々との出会い、季節の移ろい、日々の小さな想い。そこから生まれる音楽は、民族楽器の素朴で暖かな音色によって、遠い土地の風景や物語を思わせる音世界を紡いでいる。
関西を拠点に全国各地でコンサートを開催するほか、台湾、韓国、ノルウェー、フランスでも演奏活動を展開。2025年には大阪・関西万博のアイルランド関連イベント、アイルランドナショナルデーに出演し、2026年には台湾ツアーを開催するなど、国内外で活動を続けている。
これまでに『SILVER LINE』『雨つぶと風のうた』『森の時間』『5分間の魔法』『The Happy Cabin』の5枚のCDを発表。ROYCE'（ロイズ）のCM音楽や高知県立牧野植物園の光の演出のBGMなど、映像や空間のための音楽も手がけている。
●hatao & nami
hatao & nami is a duo that creates its own distinctive music rooted in Celtic and Nordic traditions, reimagining the beauty of traditional melodies through the musical sensibilities of its two members.
Formed in 2011, the duo brings together hatao, who plays a wide variety of flutes and whistles, and nami, who plays harp, piano, and kantele. Inspired by the traditional music of Celtic regions such as Ireland, Scotland, and Brittany, as well as the Nordic traditions of Sweden and Norway, they draw on the rich melodies and sounds of these cultures to create original compositions and their own arrangements of traditional tunes.
Landscapes encountered on their travels, the people they meet, the changing seasons, and small moments and feelings from everyday life all find their way into their music. Through the warm, organic sounds of traditional instruments, hatao & nami weave a musical world that evokes the landscapes and stories of distant lands.
Based in the Kansai region of Japan, the duo performs concerts throughout the country and has also appeared internationally in Taiwan, South Korea, Norway, and France. In 2025, they performed at Ireland-related events at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, including Ireland’s National Day celebrations. In 2026, they toured Taiwan, continuing to expand their musical activities both in Japan and abroad.
To date, hatao & nami have released five albums: SILVER LINE, Ame Tsubu to Kaze no Uta, Mori no Jikan, 5 Funkan no Mahou, and The Happy Cabin. They have also created music for visual and spatial projects, including commercial music for ROYCE’ and background music for a light installation at the Kochi Prefectural Makino Botanical Garden.
